'Welcome to Lake George' Sign has Gone Missing

NewsChannel 13 Video

Residents want it back

According to Luke Dow, owner of the Lake George Steamboat Company, the village is having problems with some unruly visitors. He tells NewsChannel 13 there's been late night drag racing on Beach Road, attempted theft of some of his equipment, and now the famous 'Welcome to Lake George' sign has been stolen.

That really pissed me off.

Dow called the Warren County Sherriff's Office and they've been increasing patrols in the area. He says it appears to be helping.

I think has helped a lot with keeping the activity down over there. Now folks know they’re being watched. Enough’s enough.

Residents would like the sign returned. Anyone with info on its whereabouts should get in touch with the Warren County Sheriff's Office.
