WARNING: Popular Igloo Cooler Linked to Fingertip Amputations

U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission

Massive recall announced

If you own a rolling Igloo cooler, you might want to check the model number—because it could cost you more than just your lunch.

Igloo Products Corp. is recalling more than 1 million of the Igloo 90 Qt. Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers after reports of fingertip amputations, bone fractures, and lacerations caused by the tow handle. The handle can pinch users' fingertips, posing serious injury risks.

The recall affects coolers sold between 2019 and January 2025 at retailers like Target, Dick's, and Amazon, priced between $80 and $140. Approximately 1.06 million units were sold in the U.S.

If you own one, stop using it immediately and contact Igloo at  888-943-5182 for a free replacement handle.

Better safe than sorry—especially when it comes to your fingers.
