Update 6:33pm: Video from NewsChannel 13 shows the extent of flooding in front of Stuyvesant Plaza in Guilderland. Western Avenue is currently closed in that area.
Update 6:02pm: The area of Western Avenue in Guilderland near Stuyvesant Plaza is prone to flooding, NewsChannel 13 shared this photo of a car stuck and some people walking in what looks like a foot of water.
Update 4:44pm: A strong line of severe weather is currently pushing through the Capital Region, expect very heavy downpours as well as numerous lightning strikes.
A band of very heavy rain and a few rumbles of thunder will track through the Capital Region, Lake George Saratoga Region, parts of the Mid Hudson Valley, and into the Taconics and Rensselaer Plateau through 6 PM. Update 1:28pm: The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for the entire listening area, effective until 10:00pm.

Update 12:48pm: The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for most of the area until midnight. Gusts of up to 45mph are expected.

Tropical Storm Debby has been moving up the East Coast and the Capital Region is in its sights on Friday. Along with the heavy rain and thunderstorms, the possibility of flash flooding along with a tornado and/or damaging winds remain the greatest threat. Flash flood warnings have already been issued in the Binghamton area as well as parts of Ulster and Orange Counties. A Tornado Watch remains in effect for Sullivan and Orange Counties in the Hudson Valley.
Parts of the Capital Region remains under a flood watch or flood advisory. A map released by the National Weather Service at 10:50am shows the areas most in danger of potential flooding.
