The diner has been shut down before for other reasons.

The Route 50 Diner has been closed down once again after they failed their latest inspection. The reason for the failed inspection? Cockroaches.

The failed inspection, which happened this past Thursday, is the latest reason that the diner has been shut down. Back in December, they were closed down due to unpaid taxes.

The diner is working on getting their cockroach issue taken care of. Thomas Pest Services was seen at the location yesterday (Monday). The owner has also stated that they were in contact with Thomas Pest Service about ongoing treatment.

For The Route 50 Diner to reopen, they must submit receipts showing that pest control service was done and also documents proving that the diner was inspected and is indeed pest free. on top of that they must have a six month contract for preventative maintenance for pest control. They will also need to show that the diner has been cleaned and any of the contaminated food has been disposed of.

The following statement was posted on the Route 50 Diner Facebook page -
