Pilot Unharmed After Plane Goes Down in the Hudson River

It happened Thursday evening

Remarkably, a pilot is ok after his small sea plane crashed into the Hudson River shortly after 5pm Thursday. Catskill Police said small sea plane that went down in the Hudson River near Dutchman’s Landing. 

The pilot, a 71 year old man from Cairo was attempting to land his 1965 Lake LA-4 sea plane when a crosswind caused the wing to hit the water, slamming the nose into the river. Despite the aircraft taking on water, the pilot was able to bring it to the dock. He was uninjured, and no spills were noted.

The FAA was notified, and the accident is under investigation.
