[PHOTOS] One of the Last Caldor Stores in the Capital Region

Dead Malls/YouTube

Here's a blast from the past

If you're too young to remember, Caldor was a discount department store that was prominent in the Northeast until, like many other retailers, it fell into financial trouble in the late 1990's and eventually closed all stores.

There were quite a few stores throughout the Capital Region, including Clifton Park and Latham. The photos and video below come to us from approximately 1997, just around the time stores began closing. This particular location was at the Aviation Mall in Queensbury.

Please forgive the photo and video quality, it was made with the standard technology at the time - VHS.
