Work has begun on the empty space

What was once home to the popular Bombers Burrito Bar on Lark Street in Albany, will soon have a new but 'similar' restaurant in its space. The Times Union reports that a permit filed with the city says 'Out of Town Bistro' to begin renovations at 258 Lark St.

The Times Union's Steve Barnes spoke to the restaurant's owner Kevin Skeen about what customers can expect at the new eatery.

It will be kind of the same vibe [as Bombers] — a restaurant and a bar — but a little newer, more updated and innovative

Skeen said he would also stick with some Tex-Mex fare Bombers was known for. An opening date has not yet been announced.

Bombers suddenly closed in July of 2023, the building has been vacant since.
