More than $200,000 has been raised!
May 18th is now known here in The Capital Region as the "518 Day of Giving". It is a day for everyone in the 518 to support local non-profits in our community through United Way of The Greater Capital Region.
Volunteers and community members all came together on 5/18 with a common goal in mind - raise money to help these local organizations and help out the local non-profits. Well, they were able to do that and then some.
While the amount raised is still climbing, as it stands right now, the event has raised over $200,000 with 834 donors participating!
Thousands of volunteers came together to help with projects all over the 518, posted about the day on their social media accounts and helped this day of giving be a success. From gathering hundreds of toiletry items to donate to senior homes in Glens Falls, to helping clean up the R&E May School in Albany, to getting the wall ready for a new mural at Proctor's Theater. All of their help has and will continue to go a long way.
You are still able to make a donation if you'd like to right here - https://www.518day.org/search
