A building that has been left vacant and decaying in the City of Amsterdam has finally met its demise. The Four Corners strip mall along Church Street has been abandoned for at least ten years, while the building has continued to crumble.
On Thursday, a construction team with a backhoe demolished the longstanding eyesore to rubble. The next step is to get the site cleaned up and tested for any harmful chemicals that may have made their way into the ground. Once it's deemed environmentally safe, the land is expected to be sold to another developer.
In the meantime, the eyesore is gone.
