A new restaurant is expected to open in downtown Albany this February at what was the home of 'The Bishop'. 'Viva Empanadas', which already has one Capital Region location at the Galleria 7 in Latham, will be taking over the now vacant spot on Pearl Street.
Owner Veronica Agama tells News 10 that an Albany location is another great opportunity based on the success of her Latham restaurant.
I am keeping our spot in the Galleria as we have dear clientele there that we love serving too,
Agama says she plans on expanding the menu at the Albany location to include tapas and a full bar. She hopes to be open by mid-February.
'The Bishop' had a four year run at their Pearl Street location, but closed in 2023.
